Batteries that die young
Heat speeds up the chemistry inside a car battery, so batteries in the Valley wear out much sooner than in cooler places. They often quit with no warning on the first hot week of summer, usually in a parking lot.
Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe and the whole Valley
Skip the shop. We come to you.
When it's 110 outside, nobody wants to sit in a repair shop lobby or wait on a tow truck. Our mechanics come to your driveway, garage or office lot anywhere in the Valley and fix your car right there.
About us
Phoenix is one of the biggest cities in the country, spread across a valley where almost everyone drives everywhere. When the car quits, the usual routine of a tow, a shop counter and a ride home can eat an entire day, and in July it can be downright dangerous. Phoenix Mobile Mechanic brings the repair to you instead.
We work in driveways and garages in Arcadia and Ahwatukee, apartment lots near downtown and ASU, office parks in Tempe and Scottsdale, and neighborhoods from Glendale to Gilbert. Your mechanic arrives in a stocked service vehicle with the tools, the diagnostic equipment and, more often than not, the part already on board.
Every job starts with a call. Tell us what the car is doing, and a mechanic will ask the right questions, tell you plainly what it probably needs and give you a price before anything comes apart. If we find something else along the way, you'll hear about it and decide before we do it.
What we fix
Most repairs that don't need a lift can be done right where your car is parked. These are the jobs Valley drivers call us for most.
Desert heat kills batteries faster than anything. We load-test the battery, starter and charging system, and put in a new battery on the spot if yours is fading.
In Phoenix, a working A/C is a safety issue. We find leaks, test the compressor, condenser fan and pressures, and recharge the system so it blows ice cold again.
Radiators, water pumps, thermostats, hoses and fans all work overtime here. We find the weak spot before the temperature gauge climbs on the I-10.
Pads, rotors, calipers and brake fluid. Freeway stop-and-go and hot pavement wear brakes down, so squeals, grinding or a soft pedal are worth a quick check.
One click and nothing, a slow crank or a battery light on the dash. We figure out which part actually failed and replace it right where the car sits.
We scan the codes, test the system they point to and explain the problem in plain English, including whether it will cause trouble at your emissions test.
Sun and dry heat crack rubber fast. We replace worn serpentine belts and brittle hoses before one splits on a 115-degree afternoon.
Oil and filter changes, fluid checks, engine and cabin air filters and scheduled maintenance. Dust and heat are exactly what most carmakers' severe-service schedules are written for.
Struts, shocks, tie rods, ball joints and control arms that wear from long freeway miles, rough patches and speed bumps around town.
Dead in the garage, stalling at lights or dash lights acting up? We trace it down, from heat-cracked connectors to failed relays and corroded terminals.
Back from a summer away? We'll get a car that sat for months running again, from a dead battery to stale fuel, low tires and dried-out wipers.
Buying a used car or truck in the Valley? We meet you at the vehicle and check it from bumper to bumper, A/C and cooling system included, before you pay.
Don't see your repair listed? Call and ask. If it's safe to do in a driveway, we can usually handle it.
Call (602) 905-6069How it works
Getting your car fixed in Phoenix doesn't have to mean a day in the heat.
Step 1
Call (602) 905-6069 with the year, make and model and what the car is doing. We'll narrow down the cause over the phone and give you a price before booking.
Step 2
A driveway, garage, carport or office lot all work. In summer we'll aim for cooler morning or evening hours, and same-day visits are often available.
Step 3
Your mechanic arrives with the tools and parts, makes the repair, shows you what was replaced and tests the car with you before leaving.
Local know-how
Phoenix has its own set of car problems, and almost all of them trace back to the sun. Here's what we see most around the Valley.
Heat speeds up the chemistry inside a car battery, so batteries in the Valley wear out much sooner than in cooler places. They often quit with no warning on the first hot week of summer, usually in a parking lot.
Monsoon season officially runs from June 15 to September 30. Storms can flood streets and washes in minutes, and Arizona's "Stupid Motorist Law" lets authorities bill drivers who go around barricades into flooded washes for the cost of their rescue.
Monsoon winds can push walls of dust across the freeways. ADOT's advice is "Pull Aside, Stay Alive": get fully off the road, turn off your lights and wait it out. All that dust also clogs air filters and works its way into brakes.
Year-round sun and very dry air crack wiper blades, belts, hoses and tire sidewalls long before they wear out. A tire with plenty of tread can still be unsafe if the sidewall is dry-rotted.
With the city spread from Surprise to Queen Creek, daily commutes on the I-10, the I-17 and the loops rack up miles fast. Oil changes, brakes and tires come due sooner than people expect.
Plenty of Valley residents spend part of the year somewhere else. A car that sits through a Phoenix summer often comes back with a dead battery, low tires, stale fuel and dried-out seals.

Service area
We come to you all over Phoenix and the surrounding cities. Don't see yours here? Call anyway. There's a good chance we're close by.
Timing depends on the job and the day's schedule. Call (602) 905-6069 to see when we can get to you.
Valley heat
Phoenix summers keep getting hotter. In 2023, the city went 31 straight days at 110 degrees or hotter, beating the old record of 18. Then 2024 brought 70 days at 110 or above, against a typical year's 21, plus 113 days in a row of at least 100. It was Phoenix's hottest year on record.
It's even worse inside a parked car. In a 2018 Arizona State University study run on summer days in Tempe, cars left in the sun for an hour averaged 116 degrees inside, and their dashboards averaged 157 degrees. Batteries, A/C systems, cooling systems, rubber hoses and tires all live in that heat every day.
The best time to deal with it is spring, before the first 100-degree day. A battery test, an A/C check and a look at the coolant, belts and hoses take far less time than a breakdown in a parking lot at 4pm in July. If you're already stuck, call us. We'd much rather come to you than have you waiting on the side of a freeway in the heat.
Car care calendar
In the Valley the calendar runs on heat. Plan your car care around it and most summer breakdowns never happen.
March to May
The window to get ready. Test the battery, service the A/C and check coolant, belts and hoses before the first 100-degree day arrives.
June to August
Extreme heat and monsoon season. Keep water in the car, watch the temperature gauge and don't drive into dust storms or flooded washes.
September to November
The heat can hang on: in 2024 Phoenix hit 113 in late September. Once it breaks, catch up on brakes, tires and anything summer wore out.
December to February
Mild days and the best weather for bigger jobs. It's also when cars that sat all summer come back to life and need a once-over.
Mobile vs. shop
The repair itself is usually the same. The difference is where you spend the afternoon.
FAQ
Here are the questions we hear most around the Valley. Have a different one? Just call.
Call (602) 905-6069Yes. We work across the Valley, including Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise and Goodyear. Share your address and we'll let you know how soon we can be there.
Yes. In summer we book outdoor work for the cooler morning and evening hours when we can, and a garage, carport or shaded spot helps a lot. Most repairs take about the same time they would in a shop.
Most vehicles registered in the Phoenix area do need an emissions test before registration renewal, though the newest model years are exempt. Your renewal notice tells you when yours is due. If the check engine light is on, have it fixed first, because it can cause a failed test.
Heat is hard on batteries, so they wear out much faster here than in cooler climates. We test the battery and the charging system together to make sure it really was the battery and not the alternator.
Yes, it's a common call when people come back to the Valley. We'll check the battery, tires, fluids and wipers and get it back on the road without a tow.
Usually, yes. Some HOAs limit repairs in driveways, so check your community's rules, though a short repair often isn't an issue. Office and apartment lots work too if there's a safe, level spot.
We often have same-day openings, especially if you call in the morning. Timing depends on the repair, the parts and where in the Valley you are.
The price depends on the vehicle and the repair, and you'll get a quote over the phone before we come out. You also save the tow and the ride. Anything else we find gets explained and quoted before we touch it.
Work that needs a lift or heavy shop equipment, like transmission rebuilds, internal engine repairs or frame work. If that's what your car needs, we'll say so and point you to a good shop.
Every day of the week, 7am to 7pm. Call (602) 905-6069 to set up a visit.
Call now, tell us what's going on and we'll send a mechanic your way. No tow, no lobby, no waiting in the heat.
